As I opened the door I was surprised by an empty apartment. Not only was it empty but filled with some of our great friends and this sign. In these few seconds I was confused, surprised, overjoyed, and felt overwhelmingly loved. I had realized in that moment that while I was out of town they organized the moving of our apartment to our new house that we purchased just before my trip. They moved us and wanted to surprise me when I got home. I was loved.
We have been so blessed to have great people in our lives who love us in huge ways. To be overwhelmed by love doesn't happen everyday. This was a moment where Christ's love was shown to me, and I was shown how bright the light of Christ can be shown. In an act of hauling my stuff from one location to another, the great love of Christ was revealed to me. To be compelled by the love of God makes people do lovely things. God's love is big enough to give his son to move us from a place of wrath to a place as his child. That love is costly and should compel costly loving.
Thanks to our great friends who were involved in this surprise. I can't explain how much this has meant to me and how much you showed off Christ. I love that we get to run after Jesus together and pray people would be transformed by his love to love others.
